Saatvik Green Energy Signs MoU for 3.6 GW Odisha Solar Cell Facility

What Happened ?

Saatvik Solar Industries Private Limited, a material subsidiary of Saatvik Green Energy Limited, has signed an MoU with the Government of Odisha for establishing a 3.6 GW solar cell manufacturing facility at Gopalpur, Ganjam district.  

The proposed facility will constitute Phase II of Saatvik Solar’s manufacturing development at Gopalpur. Phase I comprises 2.4 GW of solar cell and 4 GW of module manufacturing capacity and is progressing towards commissioning. 

The company stated that Phase II is targeted for commercial production by FY28, with the expansion intended to increase integrated manufacturing capacity and support demand for domestically manufactured solar products.

Manufacturing Footprint:

Saatvik Green Energy currently operates a 4.8 GW module manufacturing facility in Ambala, Haryana and is developing an integrated manufacturing facility in Odisha with 4 GW of module capacity and 6 GW of solar cell capacity.

The proposed 3.6 GW Phase II cell expansion would further scale the company’s manufacturing footprint at Gopalpur and increase its presence across the domestic solar value chain.

The company said the Gopalpur development is intended to:
